The management and players of Nigeria Women Premier League side, Nasarawa Amazons Football club, today stormed the church in Lafia, where they held a special thanksgiving mass at the ECWA Goodnews Church, GRA, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The ‘Solid Babes’ won the 2019 AITEO Cup after overcoming a difficult battle against Rivers Angels in Kaduna, the first time they won the title in 15 years.

A top management member of the club, Smart Kigbu, told thenwfl.com that the event was organised to thank God for a successful season and also to celebrate their success at the 2019 AITEO Cup, a trophy that has eluded them since 2015.

“We want to thank God for everything and make sure we do better next season. Last season we didn’t do so well at the league, but went all out to win the AITEO Cup.

“The team is grateful to God for all he has done and thus the reason we are holding this special mass to thank him.

“Ask and it shall be given unto you’ we want more next season, probably the league and the AITEO Cup. He concluded.
