Gift Monday scored a stunning hat-trick as Bayelsa Queens thumped Naija Ratels by a deserving 4-0 on Tuesday morning at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.

Her goals came in the 11th, 40th and 62nd minute of the game. The former C.O.D Ladies forward also scored the winning goal on Matchday one, as the ‘Prosperity’ girls got a precious win over neighbors Rivers Angels.

Monday told www.thenwfl.com after the game that she was very happy to have helped her team get a comfortable win over a team she said she has a lot of respect for.

“It is always special when you score a goal, not to talk of an hat-trick. This isn’t the first hat-trick of my career, but it is a special won because I was able to help my team.

“I am glad that I was able to settle down in time and show what I can do. I have also been receiving alot of encouragement from my teammates.

She continues: “Our main aim is to become Champions of the league and that would make me feel so special, because I have neva won the NWFL Premiership before.

Bayelsa Queens have recorded two wins in two games and will now face Edo Queens by 4pm on Thursday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
