Rivers Angels forward, Maryann Ezeanagu says beating Nasarawa Amazons was exactly the kind of motivation they need to finish the 2022 NWFL Premiership Super 6 on a high.
The youngster told www.thenwfl.com that she and her teammates had to dig deep and stay mentally strong on the back of their poor run of form in the Super 6.
The Porthacourt based side came back from a goal down against Nasarawa Amazons to beat them 2-1 and Maryann Ezeanagu scored the important equaliser.
“It’s nice to score goals and be important to the team in that aspect”, She said.
“It was a really tough game, but we are happy about the outcome. It was huge, because we came from a goal down, against a very strong side.
“We tried all we could to get a goal in the first half, but our opponent it before us, so when we got back to the dressing room, our coaches motivated us and we became more determined to make our day special.
“Now, we are determined and focused to win our next game against Edo Queens , so we can finish on a high.”
Rivers Angels now have seven points from four games and will face Edo Queens on sunday, the last game of the Super 6.
