The stage is set for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six after the conclusion of the draw for the season-ending tournament in Yenagoa on Friday.

The Super Six opener will see Confluence Queens face Edo Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium, in the Bayelsa State capital, on Saturday.

Both sides’ last meeting was at the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership Super Six, where Chukwuamaka Osigwe’s lone goal separated them in Asaba, Delta State capital.

Osigwe has since joined Edo Queens and will face her former team in the first Super Six match, kicking off at 10:00 am.

The two teams qualified for the Super Six from Group A and won their respective home games during the regular season.

Bibiana Odoh scored the winner during a 1-0 win for the Solid Miners over Heartland Queens in Lafia. Mary Lucky’s goal returned the favor 1-0 for Heartland Queens at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Finally, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens will wrap up the first day of action in Yenagoa. The Prosperity Girls forced Rivers Angels to a 1-1 draw during the regular season in Yenagoa. The Jewels of Rivers edged Domo Okara’s side 1-0 in the return leg in Port Harcourt.

Each team at the Super Six will play five games, with the top club at the end of the tournament winning the title.

The champions will also represent Nigeria at the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League with a chance of qualifying for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
