Matchday 7 of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered a flurry of goals, with three players netting hat-tricks before the league enters its mid-season break on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Rivers Angels’ Mary Moses, Remo Stars Ladies’ Kafayat Bashiru, and Abia Angels’ Mary Lucky stole the show with treble strikes, powering their respective clubs to crucial victories.

In Port Harcourt, Mary Moses inspired Rivers Angels to a dominant 6-0 win, netting in the 37th, 75th, and 79th minutes. Titilayo Aweda (20′) opened the scoring before Peace Effiong added a brace in the 24th and, 53rd minutes to seal another commanding performance for the unbeaten Jewels of Rivers.

Over in Ikenne, Kafayat Bashiru struck in the 15th, 50th, and 78th minutes, leading Remo Stars Ladies to their sixth win of the season—the highest in the league so far. Bolaji Olamide, the league’s top scorer, extended her scoring streak to seven consecutive games with a 10th-minute opener, taking her season tally to nine goals.

Back in Lagos, Abia Angels ended Dannaz Ladies’ unbeaten home record with a convincing 4-1 victory at Onikan Stadium. Funmilayo Adefuye in the second minute put the visitors ahead before Mary Lucky stole the spotlight with goals in the 33rd, 41st, and 88th minutes. Opeyemi Awori on the brink of half time pulled one back for the Cedars, but it wasn’t enough to avoid their fourth defeat of the season.

Still in Lagos, Bayelsa Queens extended their unbeaten run with a 3-1 away win over FC Robo Queens. 13th minute strike from Delight Isaac (13′) and brace for Alaba Obabiyi in the 45th and 70th minutes secured the victory despite Favour Nkwocha’s 37th minute converting a penalty for the Lagos Landladies.

Elsewhere, Heartland Queens finally broke their winless streak with a resounding 3-0 victory over Confluence Queens in Owerri. A second minute effort from Faith Samson gave them an early lead, with Chimebere Opara’s 10th minute and Monica Matthew’s 76th minute strike sealing the first win. The defeat compounded Confluence Queens’ woes, marking their seventh consecutive loss.

While in Asaba, a tightly contested affair saw Princess Adams’ 51st minute strike secure all three points for Delta Queens over Edwin Okon’s South-South rivals Ibom Angels.

Defending champions Edo Queens cruised to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ekiti Queens in Benin City. Chioma Moses converted a 12th minute goal to put them ahead before Mary Mamudu’s 56th minute and Kafayat Mafisere’s hour mark effort guarantee the win.

In the North Central derby in Abuja,
A last-minute winner from Sofia Bankole in the dot of the 90th minute handed Naija Ratels a hard-fought victory, condemning Benue Queens to their seventh straight loss.

Matchday 7 delivered a season-high 27 goals, surpassing the previous highest-scoring matchday this campaign. With the league now on a mid-season break until March 19, 2025, teams will regroup as the transfer window reopens ahead of Matchday 8.
