NWFL Premiership MD 14 Wrap: Naija Ratels Clinch Final Super Six Spot as Robo Queens Fall Short

Naija Ratels have sealed the final spot in the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six Playoffs following a goalless draw against Bayelsa Queens on the final Matchday of the regular season.

The result, secured at home on Wednesday, was all the Ratels needed to book their place in the title-deciding tournament.

They now join defending champions Edo Queens, Remo Stars Ladies, Nasarawa Amazons, Bayelsa Queens, and Rivers Angels in the highly anticipated Super Six, scheduled to take place in Ikenne from May 8 to 17, 2025.

It marks Naija Ratels’ second appearance in the Playoffs since making their top-flight debut in 2022.

Meanwhile, FC Robo Queens were left heartbroken despite a 2-1 win over Delta Queens in Lagos.

An own goal from Joy Falegan and a strike from Mariam Yahaya gave the hosts the edge, while Priscilla Omeje found the net for the visitors.

However, the result proved insufficient, as Robo Queens finished with 22 points—just one behind Naija Ratels, who clinched the sixth and final qualification spot.

Elsewhere, several teams wrapped up their regular season campaigns in style.

In Owerri, a brace from Faith Samson fired Heartland Queens to a 2-1 victory over Nasarawa Amazons, who grabbed a consolation through Kesiena Ojiyovwi.

In Ikenne, Playoffs host Remo Stars Ladies sent a strong message with a commanding 5-0 rout of Dannaz Ladies.

Kafayat Bashiru and Olamide Bolaji each scored twice, while Opeyemi Sunday completed the scoring.

Adamawa Queens recorded a 3-1 home win over Ibom Angels in Numan, courtesy of goals from Onyinyechi Onah, Anastasia Terfa, and Blessing Sule. Abasiofon Uwah struck for the visitors.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels overcame Benue Queens 4-2 with a brace from Chisom Nwachukwu and further goals from Nana Yusuf and Aminat Folorunsho. Hellen Alex and Ranti Joshua netted for the debutants.

Edo Queens rounded off their regular season campaign with a 2-0 victory against Confluence Queens in Benin City, thanks to goals from Precious Vincent and Emem Essien.

In Ibadan, Rasheedat Salau’s first-half effort earned Ekiti Queens a 1-0 win over Abia Angels.

With Matchday 14 concluded, the regular season gives way to the grand finale as the road to the NWFL Premiership crown begins in Ikenne.
