Debutants Remo Stars Ladies and Nasarawa Amazons played out a goalless draw on Matchday Four of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six Playoffs—the first 0–0 result of the tournament on Thursday evening.
The clash, held at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, was the 12th match of the Playoffs and marked the first time a game ended without a goal. Both teams created scoring opportunities, with Remo Stars Ladies coming closest after hitting the crossbar.
The draw adds further intrigue to an already tight title race, with four teams—Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, and Remo Stars Ladies—still in contention heading into the final Matchday.
For debutants Remo Stars Ladies, a commanding win over Rivers Angels in their final game could secure the title, depending on results elsewhere.
They will also need Bayelsa Queens to drop points against Naija Ratels and hope that matches involving Edo Queens and Nasarawa Amazons end in draws or favorable goal margins.
Nasarawa Amazons, who are also seeking their first title since the 2017 season, remain well-positioned to challenge for the crown if they secure victory against Edo Queens in their final fixture.
The league, which has seen a different champion in each of the last four seasons, could yet produce another new winner—highlighting the increasing competitiveness of the NWFL.
