NWFL Premiership MD4 Wrap: Bayelsa Queens, Robo Queens Maintain Perfect Starts to End 2025 Atop

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens continued their flawless run in the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership with a composed 2–0 victory over debutants Pacesetter Queens on Wednesday.

First-half and second-half goals from Blessing Ilivieda and Aminat Folorunsho sealed the Yenagoa side’s third consecutive win, keeping them firmly atop their group and underlining their title credentials.

In Benin City, Edo Queens stretched their winning run to three victories from four matches after seeing off Adamawa Queens 2–0. Goals from Chioma Moses and Atume Doosuur in either half handed the hosts another convincing win while bringing Adamawa Queens’ unbeaten start to an end.

Still in the South-South, Rivers Angels claimed derby bragging rights in Port Harcourt, edging Ibom Angels 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter. A 51st-minute strike from Ramotalahi Kareem proved decisive as Tosan Blankson’s side recorded their third straight victory of the season.

In Abuja, Heartland Queens staged a spirited comeback to force a 2–2 draw against Naija Ratels FC. The hosts surged into a two-goal lead before the break through Onu Markwell and Paulina Orshio, but second-half goals from Emmanuella James and Faith Samson within eight minutes restored parity. The result leaves Naija Ratels still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Group B action saw FC Robo Queens continue their imperious form with a dominant 5–1 demolition of Dannaz Ladies in the Lagos South-West derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Opeyemi Ajakaiye netted a brace, while Kemi Adegbuyi, Tosin Rafiu, and Robiat Yusuf were also on target to hand Emmanuel Osahon’s side a fourth consecutive victory. Augusta Chukwuma scored Dannaz Ladies’ consolation in the 26th minute.

In Asaba, Delta Queens secured a 3–1 win over Confluence Queens, with Destiny Itobore, Tsebee Rita Seember, and Amarachukwu Onuorah finding the net. Seember Emmanuel briefly drew Confluence level, but Delta Queens maintained control to seal the points.

Elsewhere, honours were shared in two goalless encounters as Osun Babes and Remo Stars Ladies played out a stalemate in Ile-Ogbo, while debutants Ahudiyannem Queens were held to a 0–0 draw by Sunshine Queens in Umuahia.

Matchday Four also marked the final round of fixtures in 2025, as the NWFL Premiership now heads into a Yuletide break for Christmas and the New Year, with league action set to resume on January 7, 2026.
