They have only one point from three games and are second bottom just behind Royal Queens who drew against them at home on Matchday Two.

Bayelsa Queens like a predator, would be hoping to feast on their prey, but it won’t be so easy. Abia Angels, though, a modest team, can get things done at home, play well and earn good results against big sides. It is expected to be a difficult game for both sides.

.

It’s a full speed ahead as the NWFL Premiership continues with another jam-packed and entertaining mid-week of action across six centres in the country.

Nasarawa Amazons, Confluence Queens and Naija Ratels will all be at home in Group A, while Royal Queens, FC Robo Queens and Delta Queens will be hoping to get positive results at their home ground.

Nasarawa Amazons Vs Osun Babes | Lafia City Stadium, Lafia.

After two consecutive losses, Osun Babes would not like to take chances with their opponents this Wednesday.

The ‘Solid babes’ as Nasarawa Amazons is known , have started well this season, with an eye-catching 3-0 win over Pelican Stars in Calabar. Christopher Danjuma would definitely want a big win against Osun Babes, but the ‘Omoluabi Queens’ might just be a difficult nut to crack. But unfortunately, history is not on the side of the away team. Nasarawa Amazons have always beaten Osun Babes by more than one goal in Lafia and that might just repeat itself, if we are to go by the present form of Osun Babes.

Confluence Queens Vs Edo Queens | Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.

Confluence Queens have a 100% record so far and would want to continue with a win over visiting Edo Queens. Edo Queens played out a 2-2 draw with Naija Ratels in Benin and would want to redeem their status in the game against the in-form ‘New Direction’ Ladies. Both Managers are very ambitious and definitely this is a game that will test the technical nous of Liadi Bashiru and Wemimo Mathew.

Will Wemimo Mathew play expansively as she always does or will she be a bit cautious and try using more counter attacking football to earn a win in Lokoja?

Naija Ratels have surprised many people with their blistering start to their first ever campaign in the Premiership. Their visitors, Adamawa Queens lost their first game against Edo Queens in Gombe and are poised to give a great fight on Wednesday.

Bankole Olowookeere and his Ladies are wary of Jacob Vandi and his players and this won’t leave and stones unturned on Wednesday.

The ‘Canadian Geese’ picked a point on the road, when they went visiting Abia Angels in Umuahia. It was a great result for them and one thing they would relish most is to get maximum point against Rivers Angels Infront of their home fans.

Rivers Angels have done well so far, picking a point in Asaba and winning at home against FC Robo Queens. Coach Atare Azigbo and Edwin Okon will charge their wards towards getting something positive out of the match. It’s going to be one of the most sought-after match this Wednesday.

NWFL 2022 Wk 2 Review: Nasarawa Amazons Win Big, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens Held, Osun Babes, FC Robo Queens Lose.

“The Nigeria Women Football League top tier witnessed two away victories, one home win and three draws on Wednesday.”

The second round of fixtures in the NWFL Premiership featured some intriguing matches across various centres in the country.

The Nigeria Women Football League top tier witnessed two away victories, one home win and three draws on Wednesday.

In the first game of the day, Oghenebrume Ikhekua scored the only goal, as Rivers Angels battled through to record a hard-fought victory against the ‘Lagos Landladies’. Her strike in the 15th minute of the game was all they needed to keep up with the challenges ahead.

In Nembe, Bayelsa Queens came back very late to play a 1-1 draw with neighbors, Delta Queens. The Restoration Ladies’ who were the favorite to win the game, trailed their opponent for close to an hour after Chisom Henry had scored through a sumptuous free-kick in the 35th minutes, before Mercy Itimi helped the home team to pick a draw.

Abia Angels and Royal Queens played out a goalless draw in Umuahia, the home team lost a couple of chances in the first half and that made them find it difficult to get maximum points in the game. The ‘Canadian Geese’ grew stronger in the second half, but failed to hammer on their chances too.

Mercy Omokwo continues with her blistering form as she scored the only goal in the game between Confluence Queens and Osun Babes at the Lanreleke Stadium, Ile-Ogbo on Wednesday evening. Omokwo has now score four goals in the games and is presently the top-scorer in the league.

Edo Queens and Naija Ratels played out a 2-2 draw in Benin. Ezekiel Motunrayo’s own goal gave the ‘Obaseki Ladies’ the lead in the 30th minute, before Yemisi Samuel doubled the lead early on, in the second half, with her trademark run. The ‘One Day at a Time’ Ladies came back stronger later in the game and put one back in the 82nd minute, through Bankole Sofiat and in the 89th minute, Olamide Adugbe scored from about 27 yard to give the newcomers a point in Benin.

Nasarawa Amazons romped to a 3-0 away win in Calabar, as Pelican Stars suffered their second heavy defeat of the new season. Dooshima Tarnum, Aweda Titilayo and Ayatsea Hembefan were on the scoresheet.

NWFL Premiership 2022: Liadi Bashiru Prepares For Emotional Return As He Faces Former Club

.

Liadi Bashiru spent six years at the Osogbo City Stadium, leading the ‘Omoluabi Queens’4th position in the 2017/2018 season and also maintaining the modest side Premiership status, in the process also discovering alot of young talents for the team.”

Confluence Queens Manager, Liadi Bashiru has admitted that returning to face his former side, Osun will be an emotional occasion for him.

Liadi Bashiru spent six years at the Osogbo City Stadium, leading the ‘Omoluabi Queens’4th position in the 2017/2018 season and also maintaining the modest side Premiership status, in the process also discovering alot of young talents for the team.

But the ‘New Direction’ Ladies Head Coach told www.thenwfl.com that he is more focused on delivering a positive result for his current team rather than basking about his time with Osun Babes.

“It comes naturally that way,” He told www.thenwfl.com

“I was here for some years and know the team alot. I have my family and friends back there and it means alot to me.

“But right now, am just looking at getting a very good result in Ile-Ogbo. We are more than determined and focused to continue from where we started on Matchday one. I watched Osun Babes during the Pre-season and must admit they have a decent squad, I know their capability and strength, that’s one thing they will rely on, come Wednesday.

“We know what we need to come out with a great result and we shall go all out to achieve that.” He concluded.

Osun Babes will face Confluence Queens on Wednesday at the Lanreleke Stadium, Ile-Ogbo. Both teams met at third place match of the Flying Officers Cup, with the game ending goalless, but Osun Babes won via penalties.

NWFL Premiership 2022| Week Two Preview| Nasarawa Amazons, Rivers Angels, Delta Queens Aim At First Victory.

“The NWFL Premiership heads into week two and www.thenwfl.com have you covered with our preview for the Wednesday matches across various centres in the country.”

The NWFL Premiership heads into week two and www.thenwfl.com have you covered with our preview for the Wednesday matches across various centres in the country. Defending Champions Rivers Angels are in action as they look forward to record their first win of the season against FC Robo Queens in Porthacourt. Edo Queens welcome Naija Ratels to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Bayelsa Queens after thrashing Sunshine Queens in Akure on Matchday one , will face Delta Queens at the Nembe Township Stadium, with the Samson Siasia Stadium still under renovation.

Pelican Stars Vs Nasarawa Amazons | U.J Usuene Stadium, Calabar|

Pelican Stars fired blank as they lost 4-0 to Confluence Queens in the opening week of the NWFL Premiership. They have alot to play for and will be hoping to get it right against a side that is just starting their 2022 Campaign, after drawn bye last week.

The ‘Solid Babes’ were very active during Pre-season and signed alot of quality players for the new season. They were the busiest in the transfer window, just behind Bayelsa Queens and are considered as one of the favourites to win the league this season. Coach Leke Sanusi of Pelican Stars aim on Wednesday would be to score early and defend well against a stronger side. One thing is certain, the game is going to be unpredictable and the Calabar fans would enjoy themselves.

Osun Babes Vs Confluence Queens | LanreLeke Stadium, Ile-Ogbo|

Osun Babes will be playing away from their usual home ground when they face Confluence Queens on Matchday two of the NWFL Premiership. The ‘Omoluabi Queens’ will be playing at the LanreLeke Stadium, Ile-Ogbo, a community, one hour far from the Capital city, Osogbo.

Confluence Queens recorded a four-star performance against Pelican Stars, taking them top of group A and have a other chance of extending their good run against Osun Babes.

Confluence Queens Manager Liadi Bashiru spent seven years as Coach of Osun Babes and seem to know the team in and out, but like they always say, football isn’t mathematics.

Osun Babes on the other hand, had a disastrous opening day, losing 2-0 to newcomers, Naija Ratels in Abuja, a result that didn’t go down well with majority of the home fans.

Coach Olayinka Adunola has what it takes to turnaround their opening day misfortunes and has told her players to think and dream of nothing but a well comprehensive victory against their visitors on Wednesday. We look forward to a great game.

Edo Queens Vs Naija Ratels |Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin|

Both teams recorded victories on the first Matchday of the 2022 NWFL Premiership season. While Edo Queens traveled over 1000kilometres on air to Gombe to record a precious 2-0 victory over Adamawa Queens, Naija Ratels also got two past Osun Babes in Abuja.

Both have met thrice in three years, with the matches recording ,two draws and a win for Edo Queens.

The match is going to be played in the evening and it promises to be an entertaining encounter.

Abia Angels Vs Royal Queens |Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia|

This fixture is clearly going to be a difficult battle for the both sides. Abia Angels already tasted defeat in the hands of FC Robo Queens in Lagos on Matchday one, while Royal Queens starts the 2022 Campaign on Wednesday.

Royal Queens have shown that they can get points away and with their Manager Atare Azigbo staying that noting that they can get a good result in Abia.

It is a known fact that Abia Angels players work very hard on the pitch and could be very good defensively. They are even stronger at home and won’t leave any stones unturned on Wednesday.

Bayelsa Queens Vs Delta Queens | Nembe Township Stadium, Nembe|

Bayelsa Queens campaign got off to a great start as they recorded a 3-0 victory over Sunshine Queens in Akure on Matchday one, while Delta Queens played out a goalless draw against visiting Rivers Angels. A scoreline they thought they should have bettered, but lost a penalty kick early in the game. Bayelsa Queens main aim would be to record six points from two matches to strengthen their chances of winning the league.

Rivers Angels Vs FC Robo Queens | Uniport Sports Complex, Porthacourt|

Rivers Angels will face familiar foe FC Robo Queens in Porthacourt on Matchday two. The ‘Jewels Of Rivers’ will obviously be facing a very formidable side in the ‘Lagos Landladies’. Osahon Emmanuel’s side won Abia Angels 2-0 in Lagos last week and as an ambitious side, they would be thinking of getting something favourable in Porthacourt. For Rivers Angels, anything short of a victory is a bad result, so the the Edwin Okon Ladies have a great challenge ahead of them and are surely ready to take the onus upon themselves, by recording a victory at home..
