NWFL Premiership New Comers: The Lowdown.

NWFL Premiership newcomers Naija Ratels FC and Adamawa Queens FC on Wednesday, 8th of December will start their Premiership journey. They have returned to the top flight, but how did they get here?.

A short stay in the NWFL Championship, Adamawa Queens returns to the NWFL Premiership after spending a season in the second tier. The ‘Fintiri’ Ladies disappointedly got relegated last season, after they failed to meet up with registration requirements but came back stronger in the second tier, finishing second just behind Championship winners, Naija Ratels FC.

How Adamawa Queens Gained Promotion To The Premiership.

Adamawa Queens have Joshua Stephen Zira at the helm. The manager will be aiming to guide his team to the Super 6 competition after their first experience at the Super 4 in 2019.

The ‘Yola’ based side will begin their return to the NWFL Premiership with a home game against Edo Queens FC.

Naija Ratels on the other hand had it so smooth with their journey to the elite league. The ‘One Day At A Time’ Ladies won promotion from the Championship with three wins and a draw in their first attempt.

Their rise over the last two seasons have been phenomenal. From the Nationwide, to the Championship and now the Premiership within a space of two years and have shown some promises going into their first season in the top.

Bankole Olowookeere who joined the team in 2020 has turned around the fortune of the club and would be hoping to have a great maiden season in the NWFL Premiership.

The Abuja based side will play Osun Babes FC at the Area 10 Sports Complex, Abuja on Matchday one next Wednesday.
