Head Coach of NWFL Premiership side, Nasarawa Amazons, Christopher Danjuma has told www.thenwfl.com that there is more to come from his side as the NWFL Premiership is set restart.

“Our hopes and aspirations still remains the same, we are optimistic and feel the win against Delta Queens was key to our rejuvenation”

The ‘Solid Babes’ started their 2021 Premiership campaign on a poor note, losing their first three games before recording an important victory over visiting Delta Queens on matchday 4.

Danjuma, whose side will travel to Benin when the league restarts stated that the break given by the NWFL board for players and officials of all Premiership clubs to undergo compulsory COVID-19 test has helped his side restrategise and strengthen themselves ahead of the task ahead.

“We have since gotten over the poor start and ready to start afresh when the league resumes, starting with the game in Benin.

“Our hopes and aspirations still remains the same, we are optimistic and feel the win against Delta Queens was key to our rejuvenation.

“No doubt, the short break has given us more time to reflect on our strength and weaknesses and we are ready to take advantage of it.” He concluded.

NWFL Premiership: Rejuvenated Nasarawa Amazons Heave Sigh Of Relief After Recording first win of the season

Nasarawa Amazons finally got off the mark as they secured their very first three points of the 2020/2021 NWFL season with a win against Delta Queens at the Lafia City stadium.

Prior to the game, Nasarawa Amazons had lost three of three games into the season and needed to get a win in the game against the Delta Queens.

The duo of Odubanjo Dominance and Onwuka Chidinma caused the Nasarawa Amazon defense a whole lot of trouble as they needed to make a statement.

Chinyere Igboamalu popped up with the winner in the 41st minutes after she was set up by Amarachi Okoronkwo to slot past Onuegbu Ihuoma in goal for Delta Queens.

Speaking after the game, Chief Coach of Nasarawa Amazon, Christopher Danjuma disclosed that despite been satisfied with the victory, he believes his girls will have to do more to get the desired results.

“In my entire life as a Coach, I have never gone three games without a point as I don’t value points but on this victory, i am grateful as I believe we will continue to improve”.

On his team’s inability to convert banging chances.

“We are playing very well and the girls are always at the right place in time but the issue is our inability to convert from close range, something we will definitely work one, the experienced gaffer disclose”.

Nasarawa Amazon will next be visitors to Edo Queens in Benin city on Wednesday 13th January, 2020

NWFL Premiership: Danjuma ‘Confident’ Nasarawa Amazons Will Bounce Back In The League.

Nasarawa Amazons head coach Christopher Danjuma is fully convinced his side will bounce back from a poor run in their first two matches in the 2021 NWFL Premiership season.

“We are having our own share of struggle at the early stage of the season and we are going to remain strong.”

Nasarawa Amazons lost 2-1 at home to Bayelsa Queens on Wednesday in week 2 game of the NWFL Premiership.

It was their second loss at home in the new season having also lost 1-0 to visiting FC Robo in the opening game.

The Falconets manager, while reacting to his team’s recent performance, said he is optimistic and hopeful that his girls will come out stronger as the league continues.

“I’ve never started a season like this, so I believe it’s one aspect of Football in my coaching career that I am learning how to deal with and remain afloat which will turn out to toughen me, makes me bitter and wiser.

“We’re having our own share of struggle at the early stage of the season and we are going to be strong and keep going when others will begin to find their own share of struggle too.”

The ‘Solid Babes’ will travel to the Confluence Stadium on Wednesday to face a Confluence Queens side who also lost away to Sunshine Queens in week two.
