Hosts Ahudiyannem Queens underlined their promotion credentials with a decisive 3-0 victory over Chosen Generation Angels in their rescheduled Matchday Two clash at the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship in Abiriba on Tuesday.
The encounter, originally postponed on Monday due to heavy rainfall, proved worth the wait for the home fans as Chizaram Onyenze delivered a stunning hat-trick to propel Ahudiyannem to the top of Group B1.
Onyenze wasted no time in stamping her authority, opening the scoring in the 4th minute before doubling the lead midway through the first half.
She then completed her treble in the 83rd minute, sealing a dominant display and becoming only the second player to net a hat-trick at this year’s Championship — after Pattra Oparanmegwa of Imo Striker Queens.
The win moves Ahudiyannem Queens to six points from two matches, leapfrogging Wazbak International, who trail by two points. The stage is now set for a dramatic group decider between both sides, with the winner guaranteed a coveted ticket to the NWFL Premiership.
For Chosen Generation Angels, the defeat leaves them rooted at the bottom of the group with no chance of promotion, while Ahudiyannem’s faithful will now look ahead to what promises to be a thrilling finale.
