The 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Nationwide entered Matchday Two on Monday with four thrilling fixtures played in Abuja, delivering an exciting display of goals and standout performances.
In Group A, Rangers Women continued their dominant run with a commanding 5–1 comeback victory over C2E Sports Academy. Despite conceding an early goal to Agnes Ohuche, Rangers responded strongly, with Onwe Oluebube and Chisom Onuchukwu both scoring braces, while Ifeoma Oguegbe added another to complete the rout. The win secured Rangers’ second consecutive victory, keeping them firmly atop the group, while C2E Sports Academy suffered their first defeat of the season.
DreamStar Ladies also maintained their perfect start in Group A, cruising to a 3–0 win against Osklean FC. Goals from Oluebube Ibezundu, Rofiyat Daranijo, and Khadijat Anifowose ensured the Lagos-based side remained in contention at the summit of the group standings.
In Group B, NAF Queens bounced back emphatically from their opening-day defeat to Risaria Victrix, dismantling Sporting Angels 5–0. Favour Umar, Philippa Nomye, Josephine Ojo, Faith Bulus, and Stella Ajiboye all found the net as the Air Force-backed team handed Sporting Angels their second heavy loss of the campaign, leaving them with 15 goals conceded across two matches.
Meanwhile, Alexander Queens and Solo Wonders played out a 1–1 draw. Solo Wonders’ Favour Benjamin put her side ahead before Mercy Francis leveled the score for Alexander Queens, allowing both teams to share the points.
Tuesday will be a rest day for all teams ahead of Matchday Three on Wednesday as the competition for promotion intensifies in the NWFL Nationwide.
